Sunday the 5th of June 2016 is a day that Wendy, my gorgeous makeover gal, is not going to forget in a hurry!! After her hair and make-up were done to perfection, it was time for…….the dress!!!
Enter….another human angel who immediately agreed to join my Divorced Gal makeover party and clothe our Wends….is Niki Breger from Nicci Boutique. She generously donated a stunning print dress that is just perfect for Wendy’s hourglass figure. She told me that she absolutely loves the idea of pampering a divorced gal and is “super proud”, to be involved in my first makeover! I had to drag myself out of the boutique when I collected my package! I could have tried on EVERYTHING!!! Nicci’s winter range is seriously drool worthy and you know when you buy an item there, you are going to be bang on trend!
The dress that they chose for Wends makes her look chic and sexy and I love the fact that it can take her from winter (with tights and boots) to warmer weather (with bare self-tanned legs and sandals). Thank you Nicci boutique, I know you will agree that Wendy dazzled in your dress!!!
Jewellery and accessories are the ultimate icing on the cake. Wendy’s look was rounded off by bold and bright glass bead jewellery kindly sponsored by Isaacs Jewellery.
Seriously sexy coffee for a seriously hot chick
When I was first introduced to The Grind Coffee Company in Melrose Arch, my first impression was “this place is just really, really cool!!!!!” First of all, I love the name and the fact that it is attached to a cycling shop. No, Divorced Gal is not into cycling, but Divorced Gal is into spooning the foam off her skinny cappuccino while watching various guys, arriving in tight spandex to do bike stuff at the cycle shop ; )
I had not even tasted the coffee yet when i saw that The Grind has yummy, healthy delights on their menu, like gluten free banana bread, served with honey and almond butter!! So….I sat (at what soon became my regular spot) and ordered (surprise surprise) a ‘skinny cappuccino’. It was love at first sip and the thick foam dusted with cocoa and the perfect blend of sweet coffee beans is simply heaven in a cup and Divorced Gal is hooked!!!! They also have delicious salads and yoghurt with granola and other seductive little bites of pleasure, but I never order any of those……because I battle to resist the BBBE (best banana bread ever)….which is served hot and toasted…..no words!!!!!!
The Grind has become famous for their absolutely drool-worthy ‘Macchiato served in a chocolate layered ice-cream cone’. Divorced Gal feels that you aint lived until you have tried one!!! Perhaps, the only feature that The Grind is missing, is a private booth, so that other patrons don’t blush at the blissful groaning that escapes every contented customer on the consumption of THAT cone!!!!!
The Grind was just the perfect backdrop for Wendy’s photo shoot. Dayne (the owner) and his staff were the epitome of gracious hosts as Divorced Gal (almost) took over their shop ; )
It was a Sunday morning and crazy busy , but there was no waiting long for your coffee at The Grind and they are seriously efficient behind that coffee counter. Wendy’s energy brought a palpable magic to The Grind and we were so lucky to have the brilliantly talented Marika Piquito agree to take the photographs. Marika made Wendy feel like an absolute super model and I sweated blood to pick which pictures to feature. They were all so breathtaking! Marika has a way of capturing the essence of the moment and when I saw the final results, I became very emotional. When you look at the photographs, it almost feels like you are there at The Grind with Wendy and I am just mesmerised with Marika’s amazing photography. Thank you Marika for being such a pivotal member of this makeover and for giving up your Sunday morning without hesitation. You made the whole experience so much fun and Wendy said afterwards that you are “one cool chick”!
Wendy had one extra “Wendyism” (for sure not the last!) to add to her feature. It made me cry and I know that will bring tears to your eyes too…..
She wants all you wonderful women out there to remember something always!!! :No man gives us our crown. You need to remember whose daughter you are…..and own that crown… the one that your parents give you… and pass that legacy down to your children.
